Wanted: adult German Shepherd dog

I want a dog. I have one dog, but he's lonely. We usually have two dogs at a time, and his buddy died late last year. I want a German Shepherd, preferably male, adult, or at least 3 years old. I'm keeping an eye on the shelter listing here, and I've just started looking into the rescue places.
Anyone know a good GS Rescue place in the Jacksonville area?

Mark Your Calendar!

If you'd like to check out the game I keep telling you about (Guild Wars), here's your chance!

http://www.guildwars.com/press/pr13-10-01-06.html

There's more information in the article linked above, but the main point is this:

"Players will get their first chance to experience the new campaign when ArenaNet opens its servers to everyone for the Guild Wars: Factions Global Free-for-All PvP Weekend. This worldwide event—scheduled for January 20 through 22—is open to both existing Guild Wars players and to those who do not have a Guild Wars account. ArenaNet is distributing free access keys to the event at http://www.guildwars.com ....

Another feature available during the Guild Wars: Factions Global Free-for-All PvP Weekend is Observer Mode, where players who aren't participating in a battle can view the proceedings and check out the strategies and tactics used by top-ranked guilds as they fight for supremacy."

Observer Mode is a great idea, and great for people new to the game or PvP in general, or anyone who would rather just watch the action to get a feel for what's going on.

So mark your calendar, go sign up, and maybe I'll see you in Tyria! :-)

New, Better Job

I have a new job! It's in the same set of offices at school as my "old" job, but the pay is better, and I get paid vacation, too. Yippee! It's the job I originally wanted, but there weren't any open. I've loved my old job, so no complaints there, and I'll actually still be helping to cover my old desk at times, since we're under-staffed right now, but I kinda like that idea - this way I'll still be familiar with (and to) a lot of the kids and parents.
In the new job, I actually have my own little office, which is cool. The only thing I'm not so happy about is that, at least for now, I won't be able to do tech support (which I've been doing for 4 or 5 years), because of the desk coverage situation. The original plan was to rotate 3 other people to cover the desk, and then I'd be free to still do tech support when I was able to work it into my days in my new job. I'm not sure what changed that plan, but that's the way it is. I can't wait to see what they decide to do when inventory rolls around. I've been doing that for several years, too.
All in all, though, I'm excited about the new job, and maybe next year we'll have better enrollment numbers, which will mean a better budget, and maybe we'll be able to properly staff the front office. Cross your fingers, will ya? :-)
